here are 10 things clients care more about.

In our experience, this is what  clients care about:

"1. I am comfortable that you (the adviser) know me, my personal situation, my goals, objectives, values, dreams, aspirations, concerns and fears.

2. I feel confident that you now have a total grasp of my financial situation (especially the parts that relate to the advice that you will be providing).

3. I am aware of the financial issues that I have, even though I may not have been aware of these issues prior to meeting you.

4. I like that my planning starts with me, my situation, my goals, my objectives and the right strategies.

5. I like the fact that the conversation did not revolve heavily around product.

6. I feel more confident that you took the time to explain financial concepts that are relevant to me in a simple and easy to understand manner.

7. I now understand the importance of the right behaviours and it being the most critical determinant of my financial success, even more so than products or even strategies.

8. I like the fact that you have shown me what is possible and what outcomes I can reasonably expect from your advice and how they will help me with the dreams and aspirations that we discussed when we first met.

9. I feel more certain about the future knowing that you will be there to assist me keep on top of my progress, keeping me on track to achieving my desires and prevent me from making the common mistakes.

10. I feel more confident because now I understand better.

I think it's great that you as my financial adviser are experienced, qualified, knowledgeable and across all the products, rules and legislation, but you really had me on the top ten points

Can you answer these two questions?

We have just read this from the association of super funds of Australia & we share it with you.

How much is that over 20 years?

A neat little scam

Good morning,

Sorry to bother with my troubles but Please I need your urgent assistance .
I'm stranded in Bangkok Thailand and need your help getting back home. I came down here on a short vacation this past weekend but unfortunately for me, I was robbed at a taxi park by a gang of 3 men. Everything I had on me including my phone, credit cards were all stolen, It was a terrible experience. The good thing is that I still have my passport but I just don't have enough money to sort my hotel bills and travel back home. Unfortunately for me, I can't have access to money  without my credit card since the robbers have my card now, I have made a report at the nearest police station and Also contacted my bank to block my cards but it would take at least a week to send a new card to me, Please I would really appreciate if you could help me out here. Please I need you to help me with a quick Loan and I promise to refund you as I get back in two days time. All I really need is about $2,150 but if the whole amount can't be covered, I would gladly appreciate any amount you can put in to help. Looking forward to hearing from you, I will check my email every 30 minutes for your reply because it's the only way i can reach you.

Hoping to hear from you soon.
Regards
Carlos.

Hey this is from an ex client of mine & he has dined here & we have meet & corresponded to frequently. He did cancel his policy less than a year  because of age & he is still an accountant.
We have recently been to Bangkok & 38 years ago we were in a similar position. Hence we sympathise with Carlos.

Hence
Carlos please confirm it is you with your personal details including who do we do your insurance thru, & other personal details
 John McAuliffe

I understand you're being skeptical and i would the same if I was in your position, but I hope you understand my situation that I have been traumatized by this whole situation and can hardly think straight right now.

Moreover, I need you to understand that if I wasn't the one here, I wouldn't ask you to transfer the money to my own name because western union will require a valid Identification which I would have to use my passport for before they would pay me the money.
Carlos

Carlos your email address has bounced but still gets thru
What is the minimum to help you & where& when is it repaid
Yes we were in BKK& CNX in Sept & understand this is very possible
Hang in there & call us if you wish
 John McAuliffe

Thanks for your reply,
I really appreciate you writing back and I'm glad you could help. I will refund the money to you as soon as I get back home in a couple of days.
You can get the money wired to me via western union Money transfer. You can do this from outlets around town or check on their website for the nearest outlet close to you. You'll need my details below to complete the transfer.

Receiver's Name:  CARLOS F
Address/Country: Bangkok Thailand
Amount:   $2,150
But if the whole amount can't be covered, I would gladly appreciate any amount you can put in to help.
Please I will need you to send me the transfer confirmation number if and when the transfer is done . I will need it along with my passport to pick up the money here . I will be glad to see this work out and can pay you back in three days time.
Thanks
Carlos

Carlos a gross  paid to you as daily maximum on my cash card
Trust this helps you thru the moment
Your number is 90…………..
John McAuliffe

Thanks so much once again, Am waiting here
I really appreciate John, Am on my way to the airport to pick up the money ,I will be in touch.
Regards
Carlos
Carlos that’s OK & trust you are OK
John McAuliffe

Until now I have not been able to receive the money because there is no record of your transaction. If you really made the payment then you will have to send me a copy of the payment receipt.
Carlos

Carlos call us now as yes we did.
send me the receipt of payment so I can get home

We did not do so & neither did we get a call.

As others insisted we went online to Western Union & asked to cancel the transaction. They did so & hence we were refunded our help less a Western Union fee.

This is to confirm that your request to refund your money transfer in principal amount has been done. You may visit any Western Union agent location with your valid photo ID to receive your money back.

P.S a Yahoo account.

What did we learn & why are we confessing out loud?

Emotions cloud our judgment & can be very expensive. We were in our client’s shoes & advisers do have emotional connections as they see clients more often than other ‘6 minute men’.

For all those who have been encouraged to do SMSF also known as Destroy It Yourselves DIY when emotions are involved it clouds the Judgment.  For once we agree with Phil Kearns.
Mark who was part of our ‘Crewe’ to The Outback recently commented to us ‘that you know that most buy at a high & sell at a low’.

Emotions can be very expensive & much dearer than alternatives.

We recently enjoyed the movie  The Imitation Game where Alan Turing broker the German code Enigma with a machine. i.e. no emotion & much faster.

Arguably he made the most important contribution to the Allies result. However as always the ‘Old Farts’  won with the option of chemical castration or two years jail. A film worth seeing.

As The Old farts still run the world then we understand why one in three young voters don’t want to vote.

All small guys trying to survive & what have they done to improve the world. What is said at their funeral?

We believe that we can generate significant financial certainty for you throughout our relationship & importantly add substantial value to ensuring you achieve all that is important & valuable to you as you have articulated to us.

If we were to sit down in three years time & looked back what do we need to do today so that you are financially & personally better off & happier.

As others do call us on 07 3848 1088 or email or visit our website & action those new resolutions & goals.
